Heather has written a non-fiction manuscript about metaphysics that had a home, and now is looking for a new one... It's a great book! :)
She has been keeping my creative muscles flexed by writing daily 50 word stories. A collection of these can be found on her blog... (which still has the old business name, but don't be fooled; it's still me!) ;)
You'll also find Heather's Monthly Newsletter Updates on her blog. They're full of lovely tips and guidance to help you steer through these somewhat turbulent times we're in. Sign up below to receive it directly to your inbox every month.
My first 'Soapbox' opinion piece is out now on my blog. It's timely. Go check it out! :) https://intuitiveconnections.wordpress.com/2022/10/31/ghost-ghosted-ghosting/
Heather has been playing around with adding images to go with the 50-worders... and she's posted a few below... :)
******************** A 50 word story a day – June 2017. Day 30. ‘This is who I am.’ ‘But this is who I am!’ she cried softly. She had had enough. Surely other parents weren’t so mean? Her friends at primary school never talked of this. This constant barrage of nit-picking, drip-dripping. Eroding her small self into something malleable. But she couldn’t be that. She felt bigger inside.

******************** A 50 word story a day – ‘Magic’ ‘You have to believe in magic,’ she said, sipping her tea. ‘Why?’ the younger woman asked. ‘How has it ever served me?’ The Elderwoman smiled over her cup. ‘Oh, my dear. Think of all those small moments in your life where synchronicity occurred. Confluence.’ ‘Yeah?’ she said. ‘Well, that’s magic.’
******************* A 50 word story a day – ‘Cooking’ Cooking up a storm in the kitchen of life. Subverting the dominant paradigm of reliance on shops and markets for your food. Growing your way into rebellion, one tomato at a time. Readying for climactic change. Not waiting for government action. Taking the bull by the horns. A quiet revolution.
************** A 50 word story a day – ‘Reflection’ She looked in the reflection and didn’t like what she saw. A myriad of expressions crossed the mirrored face. Anger, bitterness, betrayal. Hardship beyond measure lay in the deep lines etched there. But, as she looked longer, a softness rose to the surface. Hope, joy and love nestled there too.
*************** A 50 word story a day – ‘Note’ Can I leave you a note? Can I say that I love you? I also want to tell you to not be stingy with your emotions. Love is endless and boundless and free. The more you give, the more you have. Withdrawal of love is not punishment. It is folly.
****************** A 50 word story a day – 'Waves' A tiring, roller-coaster week for everyone. The wash of the wave as it threatens to overwhelm our equilibrium. Throwing us off-balance as the tide turns. The strong current we’ve been rowing against for so long is turning in our favour. Re-adjusting and re-jigging our sails. Aligning with the new swell.
****************** A 50 word story a day – ‘Happiness is…’ Happiness is the balance between dreaming and disappointment. Hopefulness and bitterness. Stretching and pain. Love and loss. Sunshine and shade. The tipping point of joy into misery, or expectation into fulfilment can be a very fine apex indeed. Some days easier to achieve than others. Slowly getting better at it.
***************** A 50 word story a day – ‘Lucky’ I am lucky that I have access to high-quality health care. I am also very lucky that I understand that allopathic medicine is not the end of the line. I am grateful for the healers that step outside this new form of medicine and share their gifts with the world.
**************** A 50 word story a day – ‘Star’ I asked the Universe for a sign. To show me stars if it was good for me to put some shallow roots down into the soil on which I stand. I waited. Then, sure enough, a pile of stars fell out of an envelope from a friend. Funny, responsive, Universe.
